Goals, and a faster first evening
We let a bot play the game by following nothing but the Next step card, and counted how often it had something useful to do. The first twenty minutes were busy – four sectors, ships, pilots. Then it hit a wall: the next pirate sectors need about 24 command points, and the bridge upgrade that gives them took more than six hours. After half an hour there was simply nothing to do.
Goals
You now always have three goals in view: conquer sectors, build ships, train pilots, win battles, upgrade the flagship, or win without losing a ship. Reach one and it glows; claim it for metal, energy or credits, and the next goal takes its place. The chain never ends – goals and rewards grow with you.
Every short session ends with something claimed. A long session always has the next goal.
A faster start
The first flagship upgrades are quicker: 30 minutes, one hour, two hours, then four hours and up. Stronger pirate sectors are now within reach on your first evening, not the next day.
With both changes the same bot finds something useful to do for the first eighty minutes and claims ten to thirteen goals in three hours.
Your saved game
Games saved with an earlier version are carried over: your fleet, sectors and resources stay, and the goals start from the beginning.
