The fleet finds its voice
Until now every sound in Fleet Commander was a beep generated in code – good enough to know something happened, not much more. This update brings real sound effects.
What you hear
- Battle: plasma hits from both fleets (never more than a few per second, so a big swarm stays readable) and a heavy EMP blast when an ability fires.
- Victory and defeat: a short confirmation chime when you win, a power-down when you lose.
- Orders: a soft beep when a build, upgrade or pilot order goes through, a launch sound when a fleet leaves, and a short buzz when something is not possible yet.
- Bridge: the drawer opens with the hiss of a bulkhead.
- Alarm: when another commander's fleet heads for one of your sectors, a scanner alarm goes off while the game is open.
Quiet by default until you tap
Browsers only allow sound after you interact with a page, so the game loads its sounds after your first tap – nothing is downloaded before. All effects together are about the size of one small image. Volume and mute in the settings apply to everything.
Credits
The effects come from the Cyberpunk & Sci-Fi SFX Pack Vol. 2 by deerwcat – thank you! The imprint lists all asset credits.
