How good is your deputy?
A player asked how well the AI generals actually play. So we let whole seasons run with a commander who never gives a single order and leaves everything to the deputy.
The answer was a surprise: too well. The deputy acted every hour, day and night, for as long as you stayed away – and a commander who never logged in won every single season with around 170 sectors.
That's not what a deputy is for. From now on:
- It plays at the pace of the other commanders – every couple of hours, with a rest at night.
- It stops a day after your last visit. Look in once a day and it keeps working; stay away for good and your realm stays small.
