A bold deputy worth choosing
"Is the Bold deputy really better than Careful?" Honestly: until now it wasn't. It simply took riskier fights, lost more ships and ended a season behind.
Now Bold has a character of its own:
- It goes for valuable sectors – jump gates, anomalies, shipyards, academies and relays – even when the odds are only even.
- It presses on after a victory like a campaign, as long as the damaged fleet still has the upper hand.
In our season simulations a Bold deputy holds about a third more valuable sectors and a quarter more credits than a Careful one after four days, and loses more ships doing it. Over a whole season both end close, with Careful a little ahead in points. Pick Bold for the loot, Careful for the safety.
