A map you can read, a bridge without spreadsheets

The map

The map used to show all 331 sectors with the same weight. Now it tells you where you can go.

The bridge

Orders, ships and pilots used to be lists of text. They are tiles now: a picture, a short name, the time left and a progress bar. Flagship modules are cards with level dots, and the academy shows your pilots as dots too.

Patrols

Battles were too predictable – the win chance was almost always 0 or 100 %. We tested damage spread, critical hits and a per-battle fortune roll in simulations; none of them changed much. What works: when you arrive at a stronger pirate sector, some pirates may be out on patrol – or reinforcements may have come in. Even fights are now really open, and a clearly stronger fleet still wins almost every time. The battle banner tells you what you found. One-tap attacks now retreat at half strength, so a lost battle no longer costs the whole fleet.
