Seasons & ranking
A season is one race for the core of a shared galaxy. It lasts two weeks from the day the galaxy opened. The line above the map shows your rank, your points and the time left; Ranking lists every commander of your galaxy and, below them, every alliance with the points of its members (see Alliances). How points are earned is explained in Sectors & supply lines (the core and the season).
Every galaxy has a name
Each galaxy carries a name of its own – Vela Reach, Ashen Drift, Corvus Hollow … It stands in front of your season line and on top of the ranking, and the Hall of Fame remembers seasons by it.
Commander profiles
Tap a name in the ranking, in your alliance window or in the panel of a sector to open that commander's profile: picture, title, faction, alliance, place this season, best season, seasons finished, battles won and favourite ship. Pick your own picture in the account window – one of the thirty pilot portraits. There is no upload, so every picture fits the game.
Season themes
Every new galaxy gets a theme – one rule that is shifted for everybody in that galaxy, in turn:
| Theme | What changes | What it rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Season of Salvage | loot from victories +50 % (sector loot and wreckage) | attacking often |
| Season of Aces | pilots earn +100 % experience (twice as much) | flying with the same crew |
| Season of Plenty | every sector yields +20 % | holding a large, connected realm |
The theme of your season is shown in the ranking and as a tooltip on the season line; the report at the start of a new season names it too.
When a season ends
The final ranking is kept, and everyone moves on to a new galaxy with a fresh fleet. Your pilots come along:
- they keep their traits – random, trained and earned (Veteran, Tactician, Ace);
- their experience starts again at zero, so the rank bonus starts again at Cadet;
- the highest rank a pilot ever reached stays in their profile ("Served as Captain in an earlier season").
You can choose a different faction at the start of each season.
Titles and the Hall of Fame
Finishing a season earns a title, shown next to your name in the ranking of every later season:
- Champion – you won a season,
- Top three – you finished in the top three,
- Veteran – you finished a season.
Only your best title is shown. The Hall of Fame (button in the ranking) lists the top three commanders of every finished season with their points and sectors; it is open to everyone, even without an account.
